Dear Council Presidents,
I am extremely excited to be the new Navy League Public Relations Director and am looking forward to working with all of you. This week marks my third week at the Navy League and I’m truly enjoying myself. This special Council Alert contains two important requests:
- The Public Relations Recognition Program – The program awards will be presented at the annual convention and I need your reporting forms for your 2006 program by August 31st. See below for more details and for the link to the report form.
- Imagery of Navy Leaguers in action - I am in dire need of some high resolution video footage and photographs of Navy League mission-oriented council activities. We’re updating the Navy League information video and we will also use the imagery on the website as well as in the Navy Leaguer. See below for more information.
Thank you for your immediate attention to these matters. We are wrapping up the Mackie Awards and they will be announced mid-month. I am pleased with all of the submissions and hope more councils will get involved next year. Please contact me if I can be of any assistance.

2007 Public Relations Recognition Program
We are gearing up for the 2007 Public Relations Recognition Awards. Please visit the link and fill out the reporting form. The reporting form is due to Tiffany Anzalone, Director of Public Relations, no later than Friday, August 31, 2007. Please email your completed form to publicrelations@navyleague.org. Public Relations Recognition Program Awards are presented annually at the National Convention to the councils in their respective size categories with the highest accumulated Public Relations activity points for the previous year, based on criteria outlined in the Council’s Report for Council for Public Relations Activities. These reports will be submitted on the honor system to National Headquarters (Attn: Public Relations Department) no later than Friday, August 31, 2007. For judging purposes, councils are divided into three divisions, identical to those used for the Mackie Awards selections: i.e., small (fewer than 250 members), medium (251 to 499 members), and large (more than 500 members). The awards presented to the winners in each division are identical.

The Communications Department is working with a video production vendor to update the Navy League's promotional video.
