Congressman Vern Buchanan Joins Sarasota-Manatee Council Dinner to Honor Appointees to Sea Service Academies
Congressman Vern Buchanan of the 13th Congressional District of Florida was the guest speaker at Sarasota-Manatee Council’s dinner to honor appointees to the Sea Service Academies.
Congressman Buchanan and his wife Sandy enjoyed mingling with the crowd and having pictures taken with our Honorees and their families. We honored Sean Murphy and Josh Payne who will be attending the US Coast Guard Academy and Alec Bacon who will be a plebe at the US Naval Academy. Franco Aiello and Josh Schmidt who will also be plebes at the Naval Academy had schedule conflicts and were unable to attend.
Congressman Buchanan is Florida’s only member on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee. He strongly supports our advocacy for the Sea Services and reminded us that he wants us to visit him periodically to keep him up to date regarding our concerns. A great time was had by all.
