Greater Los Angeles Women's Council endows $50,000 scholarship in the name of Gladys Ann Smith...

The Greater Los Angeles Women's Council endowed a $50,000 Navy League Foundation Scholarship in the name of Gladys Ann Smith. The presentation occurred at the 2007 National Convention in Palm Desert, California, at the Annual Meeting of Members on Saturday, November 3. This scholarship is a lasting testament not only to Gladys Ann Smith but also the members of the Greater Los Angeles Women’s Council and all that they do on behalf of the men and women of the Sea Services.

The Gladys Ann Smith Greater Los Angeles Women’s Council Scholarship will be presented to a direct descendent or dependent of a Sea Service member currently residing in the state of California. The award will be in the amount of $2,500 per year for four years.

The Navy League Foundation is so very grateful for Mrs. Ralston’s generous gift and for all the work and money that has been raised through the years by the Greater Los Angeles Women’s Council.
