Utah Council sets up fundraising site to support Sea Cadets...

As President of The Utah Council of the Navy League of the United States, I am asking for your help!

The Navy League sponsors a very fine youth organization here in Utah. Units of the United States Sea Cadets and the Navy League Cadet Corps are stationed here in Salt Lake City at Fort Douglas. These middle school and high school students drill one weekend a month all year long and attend special educational training camps during the summer months. They are learning to become great sailors and marines. Did you know that 10 percent of the starting class at the United States Naval Academy have a Sea Cadet background?

We really do need your help. The Utah Sea Cadet fundraising site - www.utahseacadets.com - is up and running and ready for use. This is a surplus merchandise web site stocked each day with overstocked brand name products. These are great products for a great price and make excellent Christmas presents.

The purpose of this site is to help raise money for our Sea Cadet unit. Funds raised will be used for expenses such as uniforms, awards, advancement insignia etc. Part of the funds will also be used to help individual cadets attend summer training. You can send friends and family to this site for Christmas and year round shopping. Each person shopping at the site should click on "Your Account" near the top. Then on the "Non-Members" side have them click "Click Here to register". They will fill out all of the info so that they will be in the system. They need to make sure they record their username and password so they can sign in next time. This process is identical to that of other shopping web sites when you shop for the first time.

We will be using the Fax field to track credit for our Sea Cadet unit. Instead of putting in a real fax number when they register the shopper will put in a four digit code - 1000. Once they have registered, the unit will get credit every time they purchase on the web site.

I have attached a flyer regarding the web site which you can pass on to your friends and family with simple instructions for site use.

The site accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Most products ship within 24-48 hours but Featured Products (those pictured on the Home page) will take longer to ship - about 10 days.

Please get this information to as many people as possible - especially during the Christmas shopping season. While the site is stocked with products year round (it is where I get all of my camping gear), the Christmas season should be the busiest time.
