St. Maarten Council Inducts new officers...

On Tuesday evening, October 23, the St. Maarten/St. Martin Navy League Council inducted Mr. Lloyd Tackling as the new Council President plus 15 other Board Members as the council begins its 14th year of service to the island community.

Other Board Members are Mr. Art Nutcher, Immediate Past President; Past President Jack Stevens, Executive Vice President; Mr. Carl Hart, Vice President; Ms. Susan Heller, Treasurer; Ms. Vanisa Glasgow, Secretary; and Board Members: Mr. Carl Cooner, Senior Chaplain; Mr. Elmead Allen, Chaplain; Past President Paul Johnson, Fundraising; Past President Asha Stevens, Community Relations; Ms. Barbara Fields, Awards; Mr. Cornelius Groeneveldt, Public Relations/Photography; Mrs. Jacqueline Holiday, Scholarships; Mr. Charles Pelgrim, Hospitality; Mr. Fred Philips, Hospitality; and Mr. Leonard Ramautar, Community Relations.

Council President Lloyd Tackling said he greatly appreciates the assistance of the Council’s Founding President, Jack Stevens, who served as council president for eight years, and currently serves as the Council Executive Vice President as well as National Vice President of the Navy League. He also thanked former council presidents Asha Stevens, Paul Johnson, and Art Nutcher as well as the other board members – past and present – for their leadership and work on behalf of the Navy League and the island community over the years. He also thanked the board members for their confidence in electing him as the fifth Council President.
