Detroit Navy Week a great success...

Navy Week Detroit 2007 (July 4-15) was a great success. It was a tremendous morale booster to many military personnel and community organizations, including the famous Navy Blue Angels, the Metropolitan Detroit Council, NSCS Grayfox, APBA, the Detroit Tigers baseball club, the Sea Cadets, and, of course, our sailors.

Navy Week was anchored by three main events: Chrysler/Jeep Superstores "Thunder Over Michigan" Air Show (featuring the Blue Angels), the NAACP's Academic, Cultural, Scientific Olympics (ACTSO), and the APBA Gold Cup.

Notable participants included Vadm. Terrance Etnyre, Vadm. Melvin Williams, and Radm. Joseph Kilkenny. Also appearing were the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Drill Team, VFA-122, the U.S. Navy Band "Horizon," the U.S. Navy Flight Simulator, and Special Boat Team 20.
