The caption for the map illustrating piracy incidents in 2003
in the October issue incorrectly listed the number of incidents in
the Strait of Malacca. As noted on the map, there were 28 reported
incidents
in the Strait. There were 121 reported incidents in Indonesia.
The unit
of measure of the cargo capacity of the Manta unmanned underwater
vehicle concept was incorrect in the September issue. The Manta could
be capable of carrying 14 long tons of dry cargo.
The illustrations accompanying
the article “Electric Drive for
DD(X) Sparks Competition Over Exotic Motors” in the September Sea
Power should have been credited to American Superconductor.
