Corrections
In the August issue, a story about industrial teaming misreported
the status of a Navy contract for the maintenance and repair of 24 destroyers.
Northrop Grumman Ship Systems is a bidder for the contract, which had
not been awarded as of early August. Also, the title of a Ship Systems
executive, L. Teno Henderson, was misstated. He is vice president of
full service operations.
The party affiliation of U.S. Rep. Susan A. Davis of California
was listed incorrectly in the August Navy League News national convention
photo page. Davis is a Democrat.
The July Historical Perspective misstated the effect torpedo
damage had on the speed of the Japanese carrier Taiho during the Battle
of the Philippine Sea. After being hit by a torpedo from the submarine
USS Albacore, the carrier’s speed dropped off a mere knot.
The listing for the Fratkin Hensle Sanders Team at Smith Barney
in the Corporate Membership Directory in the August issue was incorrect.
