National President’s Medal

The Navy League of the United States National President’s Medal is presented to foreign dignitaries who exemplify the highest ideals of the Navy League through their significant contributions to world peace, national security, and outstanding service to their country and fellow citizens.

In tribute to one who has followed such a course of leadership, the Navy League of the United States was honored to present this at Sea-Air-Space 2024 to:

COL Jarst de Jong, Defense Military, Naval and Air Attaché, Netherlands Defense Mission to the United States of America.

COL de Jong has proven himself to be not only an esteemed ally of the Navy League, but also an invaluable defender of the NATO alliance and the principles that it represents. Serving two tours in Afghanistan, the latter of which included his command of the Dutch Police Training Mission in the city of Kunduz, COL de Jong exemplified the highest attributes of the warfighter; courage, commitment, integrity, selfless service, and resilience.

COL de Jong’s service reflects highly upon himself and is in keeping with the highest traditions of naval service of both of our nations and the Navy League of the United States.

Brazo Zulu COL de Jong!
