This October, the Navy League is thrilled to launch a nationwide initiative to grow our community and strengthen our support for American sea services through a series of local events and activities, hosted by one of our 180+ Navy League councils. We invite patriotic citizens to come out and join the Navy League community at these events.
Our goal is to recruit new members who share our commitment to advocating for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine. Attend an event near you to celebrate and support the dedicated individuals of these services while we highlight the importance of our maritime forces.

Advocate for American Seapower
The Navy League Legislative Affairs Committee has a direct impact on federal legislation. By becoming a member, you’re able to work directly with our team to advocate for the resources, policies, and support needed to ensure our sea services remain strong, and that the men and women who serve—and their families—are fully supported and equipped to defend our nation.
2024 Navy League Congressional Fly-In
Each year, Navy League members from around the country fly-in to Washington, DC to meet with members of Congress and advocate for our sea services.

Special Topic Breakfast

The Navy League hosts eight Special Topic Breakfasts a year. These events feature prominent guest speakers from the defense industry, who discuss fascinating topics relevant to our members. While this is a benefit to corporate members, anyone interested in these educational events are welcome to register for tickets. In addition to learning about the specified topic, attendees also enjoy a lovely catered breakfast, and engage in beneficial corporate networking.

The Sarasota-Manatee Council invites all members, friends and sponsors to join us in celebrating the 249th Navy Birthday at a special luncheon at 11:30am on Oct 3, 2024 at Lauren Oak Country Club in Sarasota. This event will feature our special guest speaker Mr. Bryan McGrath the respected navalist and member of the Congressional appointed National Commission on the Future of the Navy. Mr McGrath will deliver his words on “The Nation Must Get Serious About Its Navy.”

12th Annual Bob Bret Memorial Golf Tournament

This year’s Bob Bret Memorial Golf Tournament is on Friday, Oct. 11 at the Rosen Shingle Creek. Tournament proceeds support Navy Junior ROTC and the Sea Cadet Scholarships, the Navy Operational Support Center (NOSC) in Orlando and Port Canaveral United States Coast Guard Cutter Vigilant crew Morale, Welfare and Recreation Fund, and other CFNL support activities as identified.
