Kingsville Council Bids Farewell to CAPT Bromley and Honors Local Donors

The Kingsville Navy League recently had a busy few weeks filled with heartfelt farewells, warm welcomes, and well-deserved recognition.

On September 13th, members of the Kingsville Navy League came together with the Kingsville community to say farewell to CAPT Eric Bromley, USN during a Change of Command Ceremony at Naval Air Station (NAS) Kingsville. CAPT Bromley, who has been a strong and dedicated leader, was ceremonially “piped ashore” for the final time, marking his transition into a well-earned retirement. As the community bid farewell, they wished him and his family Fair Winds and Following Seas as they move on to the next chapter in their lives.

During the ceremony, CAPT Michael Bishop, USN officially took command of NAS Kingsville. In a touching moment, his wife, Kara, pinned his new Command Pin on his uniform, symbolizing the beginning of his leadership. The Kingsville Navy League proudly welcomed CAPT Bishop and his family, expressing excitement for the continued partnership with the base and the new energy CAPT Bishop brings to the community. However, the Change of Command wasn’t the only celebration for the Kingsville Navy League. On October 3rd, the Council held a special Donor Appreciation Luncheon at The Cherry Tree Tea Room, honoring some of the local supporters who have generously contributed to the organization’s mission. Four key donors were recognized for their unwavering support with a “Donor Appreciation Certificate”:

  • LTJG Dylan Farley, U.S. Navy, & Sandy Farley (Sandy Shores Metalworks)
  • Jackie Flores (Woman’s Club of Kingsville)
  • Mando Garcia (H-E-B Kingsville)

Each donor’s commitment helps ensure the Kingsville Navy League can continue its mission of supporting sea service members and their families. Members of the Kingsville Navy League gathered to show their appreciation and personally thank each donor for their contributions.

Special thanks go out to Kingsville Navy League members who attended the luncheon and helped celebrate the donors’ generosity.

These events are a reminder of the incredible community support and the strong relationships that make Kingsville Navy League such a valuable resource for the local sea service community. Whether bidding farewell to a beloved leader, welcoming a new one, or celebrating the kindness of local donors, the Kingsville Navy League stands as a pillar of support and appreciation for all who serve.
