The Port Canaveral Propellor Club and Cape Canaveral Council celebrated Maritime Day at Rusty’s in Port Canaveral, honoring the Merchant Mariners who have fallen for their nation and recognizing the importance of the Merchant Mariners to our country daily. This year, Council President Carl Cramb was the guest speaker and reader of the President’s Proclamation. Two individuals who passed away this year, Kurt Ronstrom and George Kappes, were recognized for their individual achievements. Following the brief ceremony, a wreath laying took place in Port Canaveral waters.
