Congressman Joins Cape Canaveral Council to Present Exceptional Civilian Service Award

The Cape Canaveral Council hosted its first Exceptional Civilian Service Award dinner on April 23. The council honored six individuals who stood out to their supported organizations. The awardees were not active-duty members or Department of War civilian employees; instead, they came from three active-duty commands and three youth programs. The keynote speaker was Rep. Mike Haridopolos, who spoke at length about the strength of the Brevard County community, military presence in the area and strong youth programs. He then joined Council President Carl Cramb in handing out the awards and gifts to each awardee, who received a Certificate of Congressional Recognition, a Cape Canaveral Council certificate, a 50% off a one night stay at the Courtyard Marriott Cocoa Beach, a $20 gift card from First Watch and a free appetizer from Longhorn Steakhouse.

Well done, Navy League team, in recognizing these incredible maritime allies and youth. For a full list of awardees, visit the council’s Facebook page
