Sarasota-Manatee Council Attends Military Signing Day, Invests in Country’s Youth

Members of the Sarasota-Manatee Council attended a Military Signing Day ceremony at Venice High School MCJROTC, one of the schools proudly supported by the council. Navy League members Lieutenant Commander Seneca Johns, USN (Ret.), Jennifer Winkler for Florida House of Representatives and Board Member Matthew Wooddall represented the council at this meaningful event honoring young Americans who have chosen to serve and defend our nation. The ceremony was led by Venice High School MCJROTC Senior Instructor Captain Dean Krom, USMC (Ret.), and held at the Venice High School Performing Arts Center. Family members, friends, educators and community supporters gathered to celebrate the students’ commitment to military service.

Following the ceremony, Navy League representatives had the opportunity to meet with future U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and U.S. Marine Corps service members and their families, sharing more about the Navy League’s mission of supporting our sea services and those who serve. Investing in the future is crucial for our nation’s maritime prosperity and is aligned with the Navy League’s mission.
