Minnesota Council

A ton updates from the Minnesota Council’s adopted youth squadron in the past few months. Here are some highlights:

  • 32 cadets and 8 officers from Twin Cities Sea Cadets Squadron took part in an exciting overnight bivouac at the MOUT site downrange at AHATS. Throughout the evolution, cadets engaged in twilight operations, a ruck march, breaching and room clearing drills, reconnaissance evolutions with detailed briefs, and fireside team building that strengthened camaraderie and unit cohesion.
  • The Polaris Battalion Sea Cadets had the pleasure of serving the Isanti County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon at their annual fundraiser. They kept the water glasses filled, cleared tables and modeled their dessert auction.
  • The U.S. Navy Cadets of Minnesota were busy in Duluth with their drill weekend. They wrapped up their Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection with weapons qualifications. They also have started shipboard maintenance cycles. Another busy year lies ahead of them!
  • Life learning experiences are key to Sea Cadet skills. NSCC Twin Cities Squadron Cadets got hands-on experience learning essential car maintenance skills. Cadets had the opportunity to practice changing oil, rotating tires and jump-starting a vehicle. These are valuable life skills that will serve them well as current and future drivers.
  • Sixty MCJROTC Como Park Cadets provided a tangible contribution to the Twin Cities Community by participating in a Loaves a Fishes Food drive. The cadets were able to work together as a team and distributed goods to more than two-hundred cars and impacting approximately four hundred families in need.
