New York Council Supports a Historic Week on the Harbor

New York Harbor took center stage for America’s 250th birthday as 16,000 service members, allied naval vessels and tall ships from around the world gathered for the International Naval Review and Sail4th 250.

The New York Council Navy League was proud to support the historic celebration from start to finish—welcoming visiting crews, hosting receptions, connecting sailors with the city and working alongside the partners and volunteers who brought the week to life.

On July 5, the council joined Sail4th 250 in hosting a gift exchange at the New York Athletic Club honoring the captains of the visiting naval vessels and tall ships. With leaders from around the world gathered in one room overlooking Central Park, the captains exchanged gifts, shared stories and strengthened the personal relationships that help build lasting bonds between navies.

Thank you to the New York Athletic Club, Sail4th 250, every participating captain and crew, and the many volunteers and partners who helped make this once-in-a-generation celebration possible.

This is what Citizens in Support of the Sea Services looks like.
