Casco Bay Navy League Council Celebrates the Navy’s 249th Birthday

The Casco Bay Navy League Council hosted a memorable celebration in honor of the U.S. Navy’s 249th birthday. Held at St. Joseph’s Community Center, the event brought together members, local supporters, and community partners to commemorate the Navy’s rich heritage and recognize its ongoing contributions.

The evening featured a keynote address from guest speaker Dr. Jerry Hendrix, whose inspiring words highlighted the Navy’s enduring mission and legacy. The Massabesic NJROTC color guard added a ceremonial touch to the occasion with their presentation of the colors, earning a well-deserved “Bravo Zulu” for their professionalism.

With the 249th celebration now concluded, planning has already begun for next year’s milestone 250th Navy anniversary—a historic event that promises to be even more special. Stay tuned for updates on how the Casco Bay Navy League Council will be marking this important chapter in naval history!
