The Mobile Council was honored to sponsor a ceremonial wreath presentation as part of the U.S. Coast Guard’s 235th birthday celebration at the USS Alabama museum hanger on Aug. 4. The wreath was placed in honor of 12 Coast Guardsmen who laid down their lives during active-duty. Alabama political and sea service leaders were in attendance to pay tribute to these heroes.
In July, Master Jake Kohn invited the council to visit the USNS Medger Evers. The eight members who took the tour were impressed with the sheer size and capabilities of the ship and plan on sharing their experience with local youth and supporters of America’s maritime domain.
A busy month for the Mobile Council. Well done!
