Navy League New Hampshire Council Supports Independence Day Naturalization Ceremony

The Navy League New Hampshire Council proudly assisted the Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, NH, in celebrating Independence Day with its cherished tradition of hosting a U.S. Immigration Service Naturalization Ceremony.

On the historic waterfront grounds that have welcomed immigrants for nearly 400 years to a “neighborhood of newcomers,” 99 people from 41 countries took the oath of allegiance, presided over by NH District Court Chief Judge Landya B. McCafferty.

The NH Council arranged for the U.S. Navy Sea Cadet Corps, Dan Healy Division color guard, to present the colors for the event, which was attended by an audience of 900.
