On July 31, Commander (Ret.) Steve Bartek of the Sarasota-Manatee Council proudly presented a $2,500 scholarship to recent Venice High School graduate Jason Sherrier, an outstanding member of his high school’s Marine Corps JROTC squad.
A little earlier in the month, members of the Sarasota-Manatee Council board of directors attended the Change of Command Ceremony for U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, showing support for their local sea service leadership.
