The Maritime Policy Statement forms the foundation of the Navy League’s Legislative Affairs Program over the course of a two-year Congress. The result of extensive research by individuals with truly exceptional experience and expertise in the sea services, this document covers all aspects of the maritime domain. It also provides policy prescriptions for Congress to address any issues impacting America’s readiness and future capabilities.
And that is the true value of the document, its function as a roadmap for the Navy League’s Congressional advocacy. The issues addressed within the Maritime Policy Statement, and the proposed solutions, form the guiding light for legislative advocacy throughout the duration of a two-year Congress. It is both highly educational for staff members, and highly actionable for legislators.
As the Navy League’s Legislative Affairs program continues to grow with increasing presence and events on Capitol Hill, an annual Fly-In, regular publications, expanding participation among Navy League membership, etc., the Maritime Policy Statement continues to serve as the bedrock of all legislative activity. So much gratitude is due to the volunteers who take substantial time out of their schedules to research and write for this document. Their efforts have an incalculable impact on the Navy League and the sea services of the United States. We look forward to the release of this essential report on February 6th. Be sure to tune in for our Q&A Webinar with the authors and members of the Navy League’s Legislative Affairs Committee on the same day.
