Central Florida Council Honors Service Members at 16th Annual Wounded Warfighter Lone Sailor 5K/10K

The Central Florida Navy League once again rallied the community for a meaningful day of remembrance, support, and connection during the 16th Annual Wounded Warfighter/Lone Sailor 5K/10K at Blue Jacket Park in Orlando.

Held on the former site of Naval Training Center Orlando, the event honors the city’s naval history while raising funds for charities that support wounded warfighters, military families, and the broader Central Florida military community. Over the years, the race has raised more than $400,000 for these causes.

This year’s event included race shirts for all preregistered 5K/10K participants, a newly designed limited-edition medal for everyone who ran (in person or virtually), and discounted registration for veterans, active-duty military, and groups of 10 or more. A kids race also brought energy to the day, giving children ages 4 to 9 the chance to join in the fun.

For those unable to attend in person, the virtual race option is open through April 30, 2025. Participants can complete the run on their own schedule and still receive a race shirt and medal. Submitting results is optional. Learn more here.

The Central Florida Navy League extends a big thank you to all sponsors and participants who made this year’s race a success and helped continue a proud tradition of honoring and supporting those who serve.
